Dr. Fonkem is Co-Chair of the Women and Diversity and Global Ascent Committee for the Society of Neuro-Oncology. A committee charged with fostering diversity, inclusion, and equity as being integral to advancing multi-disciplinary research, education, and collaboration to drive discovery and improvements in patient care. His service is critical to showcasing meningioma brain tumor survivors/thrivers quality of care needs.
As Co-Chair of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Ralph L. Sacco Neurology Chair Summit to be held March 17-18, 2024 in Chicago, Board of Directors Fonkem shares this role for a Summit that brings together nationwide academic and practitioner neurology chairpersons to discuss, share, present ideas, approaches, solutions and remedies in addressing new and developing topics on neurological care. Dr. Fonkem gets to provide his extended cadre of colleagues with a dearth of his services as we here at MBTN continue to embrace through his active Board of Directors contributions.
