As part of MBTN's Fiscal Year 2025 initiatives, Quarter 1 (January- March) showcases its strength in building and expanding family-community engagement. A significant part of this is the addition of Dr Nicole L Watford (Dr Nic) to the Executive Leadership Council as Family and Community Engagement Navigator, a role that underscores the importance of her expertise and the impact she will have on our community engagement efforts. Nic's experience is not just significant but crucial to our mission.

Dr. Watford's advisory role at MBTN brings invaluable expertise in family advocacy strategies and community stakeholder engagement. Her focus on providing supportive services and personalized assistance to underserved populations of women and women of color is not just vital, but transformative. Her contribution empowers MBTN to enhance its community engagement efforts, fostering collaborative and collective services with various local, state, and national agencies. These partnerships, facilitated by Dr. Watford, are instrumental in the MBTN Survivor-Thriver Collective Program's services to address the psycho-social challenges associated with meningioma brain tumors, such as caregiver resources and family counseling, and community health worker navigators, thereby improving health-related quality of life outcomes for African-American women diagnosed with and treated for this condition.

Dr. Watford's Family and Community Advocacy Coach role at the Jeremiah Program-Baltimore is a testament to her commitment to family-community engagement. Her work aligns seamlessly with MBTN's focus on creating and sustaining strong partnerships, reinforcing the shared mission of improving the lives of underserved women and women of color. With Nic as a key player, this collective effort is a powerful force for positive change in human services!
